True Love

True Love

It was a busy morning. Approximately half past eight, an elderly gentleman, in his 80s, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He mentioned that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at nine.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be at least an hour before someone would be able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.

On examination, it was healing well, so I talked to one of the doctor, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redressed his wound.

While taking care of him, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had a doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, just that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and was a victim of Alzheimer’s Disease.

As we talked and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, and hadn’t recognized him for the last five years.

I was surprised, and asked him,

“And you still go every morning, even though she doesn’t know who you are?”

He smiled and patted my hand and said, “She doesn’t know me, but I still know who she is.”

Music is good for the soul- Maefrize Lim

Music is good for the Soul

How are you doing this week? Were you tired, anxious, agitated, stressed or feeling low?

Research shows that music can relieve pain, encourage relaxation, increase quality of life and improve mood. Music provides a soundtrack for our lives: it can invoke feelings and inspire us to move, sing and dance. Music is also based in science: sound is produced with something vibrates – and those vibrations are brought to the ear as sound waves. And it’s mathematical, varying in pitch, volume, tempo, and rhythm. The science of sound reminds us to stop, listen, and feel the vibration.

We have learnt from Dr Masaru Emoto and Mr Michael Tan that good vibrations heal. And the heart beat of Mother Earth is 7.83Hz which is called Schumann Reasonance.

Why not let the music of the Scchhumann Reasonance intervene and elevate our mood and energies?

I have found this playlist from Spotify that reasonated the frequencies of the Mother Earth. I have used it to sleep. It is very soothing for the soul.

May you have joy and feel peace in the wonders of life!
